What Are Fuse Beads?

Fuse beads (also called Perler beads, Hama beads, or melty beads) are small plastic beads you arrange on a pegboard and fuse together with a household iron. They are perfect for creating pixel art, keychains, coasters, wall decorations, and 3D sculptures. Made from non-toxic LDPE plastic, they are safe and fun for all ages.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make a fuse bead pattern from an image?
Upload any image to our free online generator, select your preferred bead brand (Perler, Hama, Artkal, or Nabbi), choose a grid size, and click generate. The tool automatically maps colors to the closest real bead colors and produces a ready-to-use pattern with a materials list.
What bead brands does the generator support?
FuseBeads Hub supports four major brands: Perler (221 colors), Artkal (400+ colors), Hama (approximately 60 colors), and Nabbi (approximately 23 colors). You can switch between brands instantly to use the beads you already own.
Can I export patterns for printing?
Yes. You can export your pattern as a high-resolution PNG with grid lines and color codes, a print-ready PDF with a color legend and materials shopping list, or a CSV file with bead counts for each color.
Are fuse beads safe for kids?
Standard 5mm fuse beads are recommended for children ages 5 and up. Hama makes larger 10mm Midi beads suitable for ages 3+. All major brands use non-toxic, BPA-free LDPE plastic. Ironing must always be done by an adult.
Is the pattern generator free?
Yes. The core image-to-pattern converter is completely free with no sign-up required. AI text-to-pattern generation and advanced features are available with generous free daily limits.
